• Pope Speaks on "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson   1 year 9 weeks ago

I was getting ready to leave for dinner when I read online that MJ had been rushed to the hospital because he was found unconscious and not breathing. As soon as I sat down to eat about 10 minutes later, I received a text saying that Michael Jackson died. I was in shock at first, and at the same time I didn't believe it. I called back to confirm it, then I received the same texts from 5 or 6 other people. After dinner I went back to my room and cried my eyes out for a good while. Once I calmed down, I just started playing Michael's songs on my iTunes.

I'm still shocked that Michael left us so soon, but I know that he's in a better place and not suffering anymore. His music was, is, and will always be a part of my life. I can remember when my mom got me the Bad record for my birthday. I was so excited, I played it over and over again. Lol Anytime he aired a video premiere, performed, and/or made appearances at awards shows my eyes were glued to the tv. I've always been a big fan, and I still stood behind him when the media was trying to bring him down. It's hard for me to choose my favorite MJ songs; I love just about all of them the same, as well as the songs he recorded when he was in the Jackson 5ive. No one can deny that Michael's music and talent paved the way for so many of today's artists. Even though I didn't know him personally, it still hurt me when I found out he died. I got so emotional when I read about and saw all the tributes and the love all the fans around the world showed for Michael. When I visited New York City last weekend, we saw a parade that displayed different cultures and nationalities. Once they played MJ's music, everybody went crazy! =) I just want to say I love you, Michael! Thanks for the memories. Your legacy and music will live forever! A true Legend!!! Rest In Peace.

I will always remember MJ for his music and scaring this living hell out of me. I remember when I was little I took my brothers Thriller vinyl and listen to Thriller. That song scared me. And I remember the music video on VH1. That scared me even worse! He will always be a favorite of mine. I am not one who's opinion of someone effects me liking them as a entertainer. I love Michael the singer. I never knew Michael, let alone met him. I am sure he was a kind man. But the things he has done... But I wont get into that. Its better to think of the good times. and not the bad. R.I.P to one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever.

It took me a few days to respond because I am still at a lost of words. MJ was my first crush...lol I remember when I was about 4 or 5 years old, my momma had his albums and the album cover with MJ in the white jacket, I had to look at it everyday. His music and dance moves were phemenonal. He made an impact on everyone. I do not know one person, who never tried to imitate MJ's dance moves. I will surely miss MJ, the man and music. He is at peace now with the our CREATOR. He could not be in better hands at this moment.

Thanks Pope and Love for sharing your thoughts and prayers.

The denial of this reality is true, it has finally sunk in that Michael is indeed gone. I wanted to believe so much that day for the media to stand up to their titles of "exaggeration." I didn't want to believe it, so I held onto CNN, who had yet to verify, for confirmation though all other outlets were confirming it. I was praying while watching for MJ to get through what was happening and overcome, I didn't want to believe that he was gone, I really wanted the media to be fabricating the truth, as usual, but they didn't this time. For someone that hardly displays emotion, I didn't take this news well at all. Michael Jackson was always a loving person, one I loved, will always love and respect because of his true being.

Pope, this was very heart-warming and moving! You spoke from the heart and it was beautiful! I understand what you're feeling. MJ was the greatest and a very talented performer, a true inspiration, a caring and genuine humanitarian. The planet might have lost Michael Jackson, but the Heavens have gained a very special angel! Micheal loved the world but probably felt at times that the world didn't love him back; if Michael could see how he has truly touched our lives, changed this world and left his eternal legacy on us, the smile on his face would be endless, as I'm sure he already knows. As I sit and think about how he has touched my heart, I have to say that his calling Home was one no one expected to happen so soon and sudden. Though being unrealistic, at times, MJ could have been seen as immortal, in reality, he was still human, superior at that!

What a grand idea you had and very kind of you to share your opportunity with the Fam! How sweet! I used to always say how it would be great to see MJ in concert, though from my stance, I thought it was nearly impossible, just remembering the news and showing of concerts when I was young. The thousands and thousands of people crammed packed into each other, and they all shared one common factor, Michael Jackson! Amazing how one man can have such a strong impact on us all, cryptic that is in many ways, oh yes, it is very much so!! I pray that God blesses you with the desire you seek, as you are very deserving, what a very lovely prayer! *Hugs Pope*

Thought I'd never end up saying this, but rest in peace to the one and only, best of best, greatest ever, never can be replaced, will always be remembered, the KING OF POP, Michael Jackson. It's hard to explain to one that doesn't share the same feeling as I, but MJ is apart of my life, and who I am, like a family member but not blood related, I had great love for this wonderful person. And I most definitely enjoyed his creativity in music. MJ was an overall icon who gave millions hope and inspiration though his existence, a noble, talented, and beautiful individual inside and out. Though negatively portrayed and ridiculed at times, it never changed my perception of him and never will!! MJ can now rest in peace and be at peace, for his life has run its course. He might have gone to soon but his life will reside through a legacy left amongst us that will ALWAYS and FOREVER live on in our hearts and souls!

"If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."

Just another example of where we are as a society today! Pathetic and heartless! You should have seen what happened with me with the receptionist at my new lawyer's office on Thursday. I was going there for the 1st time to sign papers and I missed the turn to their office entrance. Well, I thought I could just turn around at the next street and come back. It turned out to be a street with a big center median all the way down with no way to turn around leading only on to the interstate highway. I panicked because I can not drive on interstate highways because of my dystonia condition. I can only drive on the back roads. I pulled over in a construction area because I knew this was literally a matter of life and death for me! I could not go on to the interstate highway and take a chance.

I called my lawyer's office on my cell phone, and the receptionist at the office refused to help me for at least 20 minutes as I begged for help, and she would not tell my new lawyer, Fernando, what was going on. I was beside myself and started to have an anxiety attack! Finally, she got a guy to come where I was and drive me back after I was so messed up from the hell I went through! This is what I asked her to do when I first called her on my cell phone! If I would have listened to her and got on to that interstate I probably would have been in a bad accident, and who knows what other innocent people would have been involved. After seeing where this guy had to drive to get back to their office, there is no way I could have done this under my condition. God does answer prayers! The Devil wanted me dead, but God gave me better judgement and I fought with that receptionist until the right situation was complete. Thank you God! It should have never come to this if this cold hearted snake receptionist would have just told my lawyer who knew about why I coming, and just knocked on his door and told him. This again shows where our society is today in this lost and dying world!

I hope everyone reads my comments on Pope's Miss California and Gay Marriage Blog! Those were my very 1st ever comments on Pope's enlightening blogs!

This is my 1st comment ever on the Pope's comment board! First of all, I want to say that is great that our Pope has the guts to speak out on these issues that most athletes would completely find taboo and scared to write and talk about. Thank you Pope and much respect to you!

Now to this issue. After want I have been through and witnessed in my life in just over the week, I can tell you we are a society going down a 1 way street to a dead end 1 way street. It would take me too long to say everything I want to say. Pope said it all best and I completely agree with him!

Since you all do not know anything about me, let me tell you all that I am 38 and living with a non-curable disease called dystonia which you all probably have never heard of. For more info go to: www.dystonia-foundation.org

I can not stand the media and the media to me is the "Devil" because they are a big reason why our society is where it is today. They are here to kill, steal, and destroy! They constantly promote all the things that the Devil would promote. Never here the media promote what God has to say in the Bible these days. Thursday was the National Day of Prayer. Basically no media coverage for this day. Tuesday and Wednesday were dystonia advocacy day in DC. Absolutely no coverage about this disease that me and about 300,000 people in the USA go through hell with everyday of our lives. Just this week the things that needed to be covered were not covered. Yet the media contiues to bash Miss California for what she said was her belief which she got from the Bible. Very sad indeed! Our new President, Mr.Obama, did not even observe National Day of Prayer. I voted for President Obama because I could not take any more of Mr. George W. Bush, but I am upset about him not observing this. The people who went to dystonia advocacy day in DC who have dystonia made no mention of President Obama being invovled at all. Very disturbing to me. They talked to aides of both Republican and Democrat Senators who said there might be more funding going to Dystonia research. How much and when who knows. I will believe it when I see it. You would not believe what I have been going thru to get SS Disability in Florida. A complete 3 year nightmare of being denied and given the run around. I just got a new lawyer and hope to finally win case. Believe me, it continues to be a difficut fight beyond imagination how they have treated me like a piece of garbage and a nobody! It really hurts emotionally and physically! Nobody should have to go thru what I am going thru to get this SS Disability. Our former President, George W. Bush, really did not do much good either in this area either while running this country into the ground! Now, we have a President who does not observe a religious day of prayer but will definately promote issues that go against the Bible. How can this country survive when we go from one horrible leadership administration to another that is moving us down a path to destruction!

Also, this week to show how screwed up our society is, I turned on my local news and over a 24 hour period here were just 3 examples that we live in a lost and dying world. First, that baby that was mentioned in previous comments happened in Tampa, FL. Another young person in this lost and dying world ended up rolling down his window and tossing the baby out his window on to interstate 275 while he was driving at a high speed. Next, here in Lakeland, FL where I live, less than 2 miles from my house, a 34 year old man shot and killed his wife, his baby, his daughter, and tried to kill his 13 year old who somehow escaped the gunshots at him by his father. Then his father shot himself in the head for his suicide death. Finally, a man at wit's end from betting all his money and who knows what else was so upset that he went out into the driveway of the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Tampa and shot himself in the head. Another suicide. This is just 3 horrific examples of where our society is headed and that is a 1 way street to a dead end!!!!

A Dead-End indeed. Spoken like a true teacher, Pope.

  • Pope's 2 Cents on Miss California & Gay Marriage   1 year 18 weeks ago

I'd like to say that Miss California is back in the spotlight. I guess it took deep scouring and searching for someone to find something related to her in efforts to most likely put her out there on the spot, or belittle her, especially due to her opinion in a highly debatable subject. Despite the recent occurences, Miss California opinion should be respected, marriage should be as it has always been, between a man and woman. Interesting enough, though if Clay Aiken, Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres had explicit or near explicit pictures surfaced of them around the net, would they be mocked too or being that their stats are on a higher level than Miss California, maybe not.

I believe there are grander issues in our world let alone on this planet that need to be a priority than most that have become. Yeah, this world is heading for a self destruct demise. I read a story in the news about a guy that beat up, kidnapped, and threw out a 4-month old baby onto a freeway. How heartless and evil is that. Just sad and terrible.

Anywho..Keep the blog's coming, YOUR Congregation likes to read about what goes on in the mind of their Pope, his opinions and interesting encounters he often has!

  • Pope's 2 Cents on Miss California & Gay Marriage   1 year 18 weeks ago

In addition to the gay pride movement that seems to be going on...the swine flu seems to be a major issue now. I heard some news sources call it a pandemic and the CDC is rushing to create a cure but HIV/AIDS have been a pandemic for more than 20 years now. There is no rush to find a cure for it, only medication to allow people to live a bit longer. People can walk around wearing masks on their faces to keep from contacting this virus but people cannot practice safe sex by wearing a condom. HIV/AIDS will never be a priority because it does not affect the "majority." HIV/AIDS is considered a "minority" disease and minorities do not deserve a cure? Yes, we all must do our part but the same sense of urgency should have been given to this virus just like the others.

This country has always made a big deal about issues that serve no purpose for people. We are concerned about Ms.America comments and other people making racial statements. Everyone has freedom of speech. What about the ongoing wars, diseases, poverty and other issues that are ignored daily?
